The lake at Bütgenbach: « VENNtastic Beach »
Description
This dam-created 120-hectare (300-acre) lake has developed into an actual crowd-puller for leisure activities. Sailing vessels and surfers make little dots of colour on the blue surface of the water. On the shore, the 'VENNtastic Beach' appeals with its sandy beach, children's bathing bay, sun islands and beach volleyball court.
'VENNtastic Beach': in an area of some 8000 m2, this spacious bathing beach offers:
• 150 m of sandy beach
• a bathing bay for the little ones
• a supervised bathing area of 2000 m² with an island for sunbathers and anchored playing equipment for the young and the not so young
• sit-on-top kayaks, paddles and pedal boat hire
• a playground with a small sandy beach
• a 1200 m² arena for volleyball, soccer or handball – with a stand for spectators
• a water volleyball court
