Holidays in an old Prussian estate in East Belgium
Spend the night like in the old days, but with modern comfort. Gut Eidt is a Prussian manor of more than a hundred years old. It is located near Amel in East Belgium, in the middle of the countryside and still very close to the town of Sankt Vith. Moreover, you'll enjoy the Ravel L 48 and the Vennbahn, which is a hiking, riding and cycling network using the former railway routes. An ideal accommodation for group travelers and nature lovers.
Since October 2015, landlord Gaby Schröder has set up an exclusive bed and breakfast in the west wing of the family estate. “We completely renovated the building my grandparents built in 1911. We mainly used natural products such as clay plaster and slate, the old spruce wood floors could be preserved. ”The result is a unique accommodation. Gut Eidt has five light-flooded bedrooms with different furnishings and three bathrooms. All rooms are tastefully renovated, well equipped and well maintained. They have ceiling heating, lots of natural light, 100 percent cotton bed linen, down or alpaca blankets and a friendly ambiente. Here, modern combines with antique, color with gray and white tones, wooden floors and mud walls with walk-in showers. Old books frolic in wooden bedside tables, old cards meet billboards ... There is a lot to discover. 5 double rooms, 1 family room. 4 rooms have private bathrooms.
Ideal for small and large groups:
Up to fourteen people can be accommodated in Gut Eidt. Guests are served a sumptuous breakfast and can look forward to a large selection of regional and organic products. In front of the house, there is a terrace with a large dining table, a small flower and herb garden and an unobstructed view of the fields and forests. If you want, you can prepare lunch and dinner, children's meals, tea or coffee yourself in the kitchen with kitchen bar.
The meadows surrounding the estate are cultivated organically and the biodiversity can thus be largely preserved. Cattle, cows and horses graze the "organic grass" in summer and autumn. “Our newest guest is a beaver family that is slowly but surely changing the landscape with its dams and its castle. With a little luck, our visitors can observe the family after a short walk 200 meters behind the house, ”says the hostess.
Nature, sport and experience
The 93 hectare nature reserve "Emmelstal" begins directly behind the farm. Birds, beavers, badgers, deer, foxes and rabbits are at home in the fields, forests and meadows around the farm. Mindful guests will find joy in the wealth of nature.
