A well-known and very popular attraction in the Natagora/BNVS conservation area of the Holzwarche unfolds its radiance every year in spring: again and again, the yellow wild daffodil bathes the valleys of the streams in this conservation area in a sea of flowers and makes a great impression on many visitors from near and far.
Most people are familiar with the narcissus family as daffodils from the front garden or cut flowers from the florists. Hardly anyone can imagine what it's like when the narcissus enchants the valleys with its yellow flowers in the wild. As a plant in the wild, the narcissus is severely threatened and strictly protected for that reason. The valleys of the streams in the conservation area of the Holzwarche, between the villages of Rocherath and Mürringen, are one of the largest last refuges of the wild yellow daffodil, where it provides a true spectacle of Nature each year in April.
