Extratrail is one of the largest network-systems of permanently signposted trail running and Nordic walking routes in the North-West of Europe. Since 2018, Malmedy also offers 4 trails for recreational athletes.
The 24 existing routes in the region are supplemented by the four trails in Malmedy with lengths of 8, 18, 27 and 39 km. These include running trails in the neighbouring municipalities of Spa, Stoumont, Jalhay, Stavelot, Theux and Trois-Ponts, which are all linked to one another. These new trails in Malmedy mean that runners have a 600-kilometre network of trails at their disposal in a breathtakingly beautiful countryside. The trail network in Malmedy has signposts written in four languages and is maintained by local running groups and the municipality of Malmedy.
