Malmundarium – touristic and cultural centre
Description
Much more than a museum: Malmedys historical and touristic heart.
The visitor centre with its historical, artistic and cultural expositions is worth a visit. The ground floor and the storage spaces (attainable by lift) of the heritage-protected building have been restored outstandingly. The tour of the museum has been designed in a ludic manner and includes many information pillars and videos. An audio-guide gives further information about the leather atelier, the paper atelier (paper making-workshop on request), the carnival atelier, the treasure room of the cathedral and the Historium, a 14 centuries-long journey through history.
Temporary exhibitions
High-quality art exhibitions with classic and contemporary works are exposed in the gallery “Mon Art” and in the exhibit rooms in the attic floor during the whole year.
Animation, activities and guided tours
Multilingual guides are available to provide entertaining tours for groups. The animators of the communal library keep several pedagogical animation programs ready for school classes.
