The Nature park centre Botrange invites you to an informative and entertaining journey through the High Fens – Eifel nature park. This nature park covers the area between the Gileppe and Weser reservoir dams, the lakes and the Ourtal. It also traverses the nature reserve High Fens.
The tourist information service is opened every day. It provides you with brochures and maps, which are essential tools if you want to top your stay with unforgettable discoveries.
In situ, you will also find a “green” shop: Feel free to rummage in the shelves and to discover pedagogically precious, nature-related books, a selection of regional products, post cards, hiking maps, gift ideas and much more.
The activities of the Nature park centre Botrange:
All year long:
- In the permanent exhibition FANIA, visitors can discover many aspects of the High Fens: Fauna, flora, geology, the human and the High Fens are staged marvellously.
- The playground is suitable for children between 6 and 12.
- The medical plants garden shows you plants that are actually used in medical care.
- The educational trail is also accessible for visitors with special needs. It has a length of 800 metres and is composed of 9 modules, in which you will discover different eco-systems, their residents and the peculiarities of the region.
- Equipment to hire, to collect waste during your walks.
Beyond the winter season:
- Covered-wagon tour (18 km): Experience quaint woods, wild meadows and exceptional places in an original way.
