In this forest area near Rocherath, soldiers of the 99th US Infantry Division were stationed in December 1944 and units of the 277th Volksgrenadier Division in January 1945. Exactly through this forest area between Lanzerath in Belgium and Höfen on the German side, ran an attack wedge of the German troops at the beginning of the Ardennes offensive.
Parking memorial site Hasselpath, Rocherath-Wahlerscheid street N658, 1 km behind Rocherath (at the traffic lights) turn right and follow the signposts.
