On the last weekend in September things get loud in the Eifel. Rally drivers and fans of motor sport gather to attend the East Belgian rally, a major motor sports event that goes through all five of the Eifel's municipalities.

East Belgian rally – top-notch drift festival
As a rating event in the national rally championship (BRC), the East Belgian rally attracts some 120 drivers each year. It's not only rally cars of the modern generation that toe the line. Before the drivers appear, the veteran cars offer the public an exciting spectacle. The East Belgian rally was organised for the first time in 2005 and is regarded as the successor to the 'Boucles de Spa'. Since 2010 it has been organised by the club AMC St. Vith and the automobile club TAC Tielt. The rally centre is the 'Triangel' culture centre in St. Vith.
The special stages and test stages of the rally take the participants through all five Eifel municipalities: Burg-Reuland, St. Vith, Amel, Büllingen and Bütgenbach. These selected routes are regarded as Belgium's most beautiful and most challenging. Well known champions such as world championship pro Thierry Neuville from St. Vith have also taken part in this event.
Along the course the spectators will find booths and stands, so meals and beverages are available. This major event is a must for motor sport fans and everyone else who is interested.
